SPARK: Songwriter Studio Series

The Union Parish Library is presenting an exciting opportunity for aspiring teen singer-songwriters…

It’s the SPARK: Songwriter Studio Series, sponsored by Origin Bank!

Director Stephanie Herrmann expresses the library’s commitment to providing a new outlet for Union Parish’s talented students. Students will attend mentoring sessions once a week for seven weeks with the final session being an outdoor concert in April!

The series covers essential aspects of songwriting, from defining musical style and crafting lyrics to stage performance, recording, and creating music videos. Music producer, Kimberly Dean, and nine accomplished musician mentors spanning diverse genres, will guide participants throughout the sessions. The series concludes with a public concert where participants will showcase their newfound skills!

To be part of this unique opportunity, interested students must apply through a pre-application process, as only TEN spots are available.

Applicants should be at least 13 years old, possess basic musical experience, play an instrument for rhythm purposes, and be open to public performances. The program offers participants the chance to leave with tangible accomplishments, including a USB album, a published music video, a concert poster, and autographed photos!
